Big Heart Boys

Junior 6, Arturo 12, Jonathan 12

Irvin 13, Edgar 13, Carlos 15

Beto, 16

This is my first attempt ever at posting to a blog, so please excuse me if this doesn't turn out looking exactly like I intended it to.
I wanted to introduce the boys of Big Heart Orphanage. They are all from single-parent families with either a mother or grandmother who, for financial or physical reasons, is unable to care for her children. After an interview and decision process by our board of directors, they are chosen to come live with us. We provide food, clothing, school, medical care as needed, and then the kids go home every other weekend to be with their families. We act almost as substitute parents, trying to teach our children to grow up to be good Christian Mexican citizens. The four main things we emphasize are obedience, responsibility, respect, and (the greatest of these) love.
I have been here 2 1/2 years. God has done so much in and through my life, teaching me things and allowing me to experience things I would never have even imagined. It has not all been fun or easy, but I can say with all my heart that God has been faithful through every moment.
Hence the name of my blog "On Eagle's Wings," as Isaiah 40:31 says, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles."
